The Transformation (Die Verwandlung)

In 1995 Oxana got the opportunity to spend a longer study visit in Solo, Indonesia. She studied Javanese dance at the University of Arts STSI. In the evening hours, she met dancers and musicians and they exchanged creative conversations and dance improvisations. That's when the idea of "The Transformation" was born. Balinese masks discovered in a painter's gallery helped Oxana to choreograph a gender story: an unhappy old man who transforms himself into a handsome young woman.
